I think everyone who was there experienced it as a modern day Woodstock: fantastic people, great music, lots of heavy weather but also a great deal of sunshine, good, nice, warm atmosphere… All the hippy stuff your (grand)parents talked about! Together with three other bands, we were asked to create a soundtrack for the festival, which resulted in a cool video. Watch our part below:

Gigs

We’ll be playing loads of gigs, starting tomorrow at Radio Mortale. No crowd allowed inside, but you can hear us at  8:00 PM (GMT+1) on their website, or tune in at 106.8 FM in your car, or while jogging (Amsterdam only).

Next week we’ll play in Heerlen and 4(!) gigs at and around Eurosonic and Unconvention Groningen. At the end of the month we’ll play at Club 3VOOR12/Utrecht and together with Tommigun at the great Paard van Troje in The Hague. And some nice shows at the 4^th, the 6^th and the 10^th of February, check ‘em all out here.

What a year, what a year. MJ died, the climate wasn’t saved , FC Groningen sucked bigtime and: we released our third album Chekhov Guns! That last thing didn’t come as a surprise for us, we had been working on it and fighting about it for over two years… So to finally be able to celebrate this release with you guys was really something special. To thank you for your support we recorded a christmas song that you guys chose yourself (remember?), and because we’re so enthousiastic about it we also recorded a premium, professional and very expensive video. And we’re loose! Thanks to everyone that visited our shows in Groningen, Utrecht & Amsterdam in the last few days. We had a great time playing our new songs.

The show in tiny-but-cosy De Nieuwe Anita was very acoustic and very nice. We played our anti-christmas song December Radio and a bunch of songs from Chekhov Guns. We had great fun!

On top of that we’re getting some really nice reviews and interviews on both the record and the liveshows. You can find the reviews under – surprise! – reviews. In our clubhouse you can vote for what you want for christmas! Keep an eye out for the Club AT newsletter for more info about that..

This pink house of ours is special because it is an actual clubhouse and we’re asking you to become a member. Off course we have rules for that – like burping A-U-D-I-O-T-R-A-N-S-P-A-R-E-N-T backwards – which you can find here.

The idea is that if you become a member (see Club AT above, right, see it? Click it!) we’ll keep you posted on what we’re up to and give you special and free stuff. We promise you a special song every month that you can download for free. And you also get a vote on what you would like us to record. For example; November this year you can download the song really white smile from our album which will be out November 23^rd. December will be the first chance to vote; which Christmas song would you like to get as a present this year?

There are a couple of important things to say right now. (drum rolls)

1.  Our album is done! and it’s a bundle of pure pink joy! It’s called ‘Chekhov Guns’. Dre came up with this final name after the literary technique made famous by Anton Chekhov. We altered it a bit to avoid any form of possible lawsuit. But it does fit the final product. Further details of the artwork will be shown when the new site is done. This will be around 1 november.
For a hint at the album artwork check out the easter-egged photograph on the left!

2.  The second very important newsfact is that we are now officialy on the pre-sales list for our cd-presentation show. This means you can now order your tickets online. I always love the phrase ‘order fast before its sold out’. But since the official theatre in Groningen can house around 700 people,(yikes!) I highly doubt that it will sell out anyway. But you can make a difference! The cd-presentation will be on the 26th of november in Groningen. Also we will be attending Utrecht on the 27th of november and possibly Amsterdam as well. Keep your eyes on our agenda.

Another reason for not updating this site is that a brand spanking new site is in production. Our official web-admin-behind-the-scenes-uber-dude Bram Willemse is being a real cool Geek. Off course the site will be launched together with all the finished art-work of our new album. So no suprise that you still see our old website.

Things will be done when they are done, that’s all we can see for now. But we are very, very pleased with the results. And if we see how people react to some of the new songs live, we’re hopefull that they will like the recorded new versions as well.
